嫦娥奔月

相传在远古的时候，天上突然出现了十个太阳，晒得大地直冒烟，老百姓实在无法生活下去了。

In ancient times, it is said that ten suns suddenly appeared in the sky, scorching the earth and causing great smoke to rise. The common people could no longer live in such conditions.

有一个力大无比的英雄名叫后羿，他决心为老百姓解除这个苦难。

There was an incredibly strong hero named Hou Yi, who was determined to relieve the people of this suffering.

后羿登上昆仑山顶，运足气力，拉满神弓，“嗖——嗖——嗖——”一口气射下九个太阳。

Hou Yi climbed to the top of Kunlun Mountain, gathered his strength, drew his divine bow, and "whoosh—whoosh—whoosh" shot down nine suns in one breath.

他对天上最后一个太阳说：“从今以后，你每天必须按时升起，按时落下，为民造福。”

He then spoke to the last sun in the sky: "From now on, you must rise and set on time every day, to benefit the people."

后羿为老百姓除了害，大伙儿都很敬重他。

Having removed the threat to the common people, Hou Yi earned great respect from everyone.

很多人拜他为师，跟他学习武艺。有个叫逄蒙的人，为人奸诈贪婪，也随着众人拜在后羿的门下。

Many people came to pay homage to him as a master and learned martial arts from him. Among them was a man named Pang Meng, who was treacherous and greedy, and he also became one of Hou Yi's disciples.

后羿的妻子嫦娥，是个美丽善良的女子。

Hou Yi's wife, Chang'e, was a beautiful and kind woman.

她经常接济生活贫苦的乡亲，乡亲们都非常喜欢她。

She often helped those who were struggling, and the villagers all greatly liked her.

一天，昆仑山上的西王母送给后羿一丸仙药。

One day, the Queen Mother of the West from Kunlun Mountain gifted Hou Yi an elixir of immortality.

据说，人吃了这种药，不但能长生不老，还可以升天成仙。

It was said that anyone who took this elixir would not only live forever but could also ascend to heaven and become an immortal.

可是，后羿不愿意离开嫦娥，就让她将仙药藏在百宝匣里。

However, Hou Yi did not want to leave Chang'e, so he asked her to hide the elixir in a treasure box.

这件事不知怎么被逄蒙知道了，他一心想把后羿的仙药弄到手。

Somehow, this news reached Pang Meng, who was intent on getting his hands on Hou Yi's elixir.

八月十五这天清晨，后羿要带弟子出门去，逄蒙假装生病，留了下来。

On the morning of the fifteenth day of the eighth month, Hou Yi was preparing to leave with his disciples, while Pang Meng pretended to be ill and stayed behind.

到了晚上，逄蒙手提宝剑，迫不及待地闯进后羿家里，威逼嫦娥把仙药交出来。

In the evening, Pang Meng, holding a sword, could no longer contain himself and barged into Hou Yi's house, threatening Chang'e to hand over the elixir.

嫦娥心里想，让这样的人吃了长生不老药，不是要害更多的人吗。

Chang'e thought to herself that if such a person were to consume the elixir of immortality, it would only harm more people.

于是，她便机智地与逄蒙周旋。逄蒙见嫦娥不肯交出仙药，就翻箱倒柜，四处搜寻。

Thus, she cleverly engaged in a battle of wits with Pang Meng. When he saw that Chang'e refused to give up the elixir, he began to rummage through the boxes, searching everywhere.

眼看就要搜到百宝匣了，嫦娥疾步向前，取出仙药，一口吞了下去。

Just when he was about to find the treasure box, Chang'e stepped forward swiftly, took the elixir, and swallowed it in one go.

嫦娥吃了仙药，突然飘飘悠悠地飞了起来。

Once Chang'e consumed the elixir, she suddenly floated into the air.

她飞出了窗子，飞过了洒满银辉的郊野，越飞越高。

She flew out of the window, over the moonlit fields, ascending higher and higher.

碧蓝碧蓝的夜空挂着一轮明月，嫦娥一直朝着月亮飞去。

A bright moon hung in the deep blue night sky, and Chang'e flew towards it.

后羿外出回来，不见了妻子嫦娥。

When Hou Yi returned from his outing, he found that his wife Chang'e was missing.

他焦急地冲出门外，只见皓月当空，圆圆的月亮上树影婆娑，一只玉兔在树下跳来跳去。

In a panic, he dashed outside, only to see the bright moon in the sky. The moon was round, with the shadows of trees swaying, and a jade rabbit hopping around beneath one of the trees.

啊，妻子正站在一棵桂树旁深情地凝望着自己呢。

Ah, his wife was standing beside a cassia tree, gazing at him with deep affection.

“嫦娥，嫦娥”后羿连声呼唤，不顾一切地朝着月亮追去。

"Chang'e, Chang'e!" Hou Yi called out repeatedly, recklessly chasing after the moon.

可是他向前追三步，月亮就向后退三步，怎么也追不上。

Yet every time he took three steps forward, the moon would retreat three steps back, making it impossible for him to catch up.

乡亲们很想念好心的嫦娥，在院子里摆上嫦娥平日爱吃的食品，遥遥地为她祝福。

The villagers deeply missed the kind-hearted Chang'e. They laid out the foods she loved in the yard and sent their blessings to her from afar.

从此以后，每年八月十五，就成了人们企盼团圆的中秋佳节。

From that day forward, the fifteenth day of the eighth month became a cherished festival of reunion, known as the Mid-Autumn Festival.
