后羿射日

传说古时候，东方天帝有十个儿子，都是太阳，这十个太阳跟他们的母亲在东海边上住。

In ancient times, it is said that the Heavenly Emperor of the East had ten sons, all of whom were suns. These ten suns lived with their mother by the Eastern Sea.

天帝之妻经常把她的十个孩子放在东海洗澡，洗完澡后，让他们到一棵大树上休息。

The Heavenly Empress often took her ten children to bathe in the Eastern Sea. After their baths, she would let them rest on a large tree.

因为每个太阳的中心都是鸟形（三足乌），所以大树就成了他们的家，他们中有九个在长得较矮的树枝上栖息，另一个则在树梢上栖息。

Since the center of each sun took the form of a bird (the three-legged crow), the large tree became their home. Nine of them perched on the shorter branches, while one perched at the top of the tree.

当黎明时，栖息在树梢的太阳便坐着两轮车，穿越天空，照射人间，把光和热洒向整个世界。

At dawn, the sun resting at the top of the tree would ride a chariot with two wheels, crossing the sky and illuminating the world, spreading light and warmth across the earth.

十个太阳轮流当班，每天一换，秩序井然，天地万物一片欣欣向荣的的景象。

The ten suns took turns in this role, changing daily in an orderly manner, creating a vibrant scene across the cosmos and thriving life.

人们在大地上生活得非常幸福和睦，日出而耕，日落而息，生活过得既美满又幸福。

People lived very happily and harmoniously on earth, farming at sunrise and resting at sunset, enjoying a fulfilling and joyous life.

那时候人们感恩于太阳给他们带来了时辰、光明和欢乐，经常面向天空磕头作揖，对他们顶礼膜拜。

During that time, people were grateful to the sun for bringing them time, light, and joy. They often bowed and saluted towards the sky, worshipping them with great reverence.

可是，时间已久，这十个太阳就觉得一个一个的轮流很无聊，他们想要一起周游天空，那样玩得更痛快。

However, over time, the ten suns grew bored with taking turns. They wished to travel across the sky together, thinking that it would be more fun that way.

于是，当黎明来临时，十个太阳一起爬上双轮车，踏上了穿越天空的征程。

So, when dawn arrived, the ten suns climbed into a double-wheeled chariot and began their journey across the sky together.

这一下，大地上万物就受不了了：十个太阳像十个大火团，他们一起放出的热量烤焦了大地，烧死了许许多多的生命。

This time, the earth could not bear it: the ten suns, like ten great fireballs, unleashed their combined heat, scorching the land and causing countless lives to perish.

所有的树木庄稼和房子都被烧成了灰烬，森林也着火了，剩余的人们和动物，四下流窜，发疯似地寻找可以躲避灾难的地方。

All the trees, crops, and houses turned to ash, and the forests caught fire. The remaining people and animals ran about, frantically searching for places to escape the disaster.

于是河流干枯，大海即将干涸，所有的鱼类也死光了，水中的怪物便爬上岸偷窃食物。

Rivers dried up, the sea was on the brink of desiccation, all the fish died, and monstrous creatures crawled ashore to steal food.

陆地上的人和家畜无以为生，还成为野兽口中的食物。人们在火海灾难中苦苦挣扎，祈求上苍的恩赐！

People and livestock on land could barely survive and became prey for wild beasts. Those struggling in the sea of fire prayed desperately for mercy from the heavens!

这时，有个年轻英俊的英雄大神叫后羿，他是个神箭手，箭法超群，百发百中。

At this time, a young and handsome hero named Hou Yi, a master archer whose accuracy was unmatched, was summoned by the Heavenly Emperor and entrusted with the mission to drive away the suns. Seeing the suffering of the people in the fire, he resolutely decided to shoot down the nine excess suns to save them from their misery.

他被天帝召唤去，领受了驱赶太阳的使命，他看到人们在火难中惨不忍睹，便暗下决心射掉那多余的九个太阳，帮助人们脱离苦海。

Thus, Hou Yi climbed over ninety-nine high mountains, crossed ninety-nine great rivers, and navigated through ninety-nine canyons until he reached the Eastern Sea, where he climbed a great mountain facing the vast sea.

于是，后羿爬过九十九座高山，迈过九十九条大河，穿过九十九个峡谷，来到了东海边上，登上了一座面临茫茫大海的大山。

Hou Yi drew the mighty red bow gifted by the Heavenly Emperor, loaded a thousand-pound white arrow, and aimed at the blazing sun in the sky. With a swift whoosh, the first sun was shot down.

后羿拉开天帝赏赐的万斤力红弓，搭上千斤重的白色利箭，瞄准天上火辣辣的太阳，嗖地一声，第一太阳被射落了。

Hou Yi drew his bow again and with a strong thrum, he shot down two suns simultaneously.

后羿又拉弓搭箭，嗡地一声，两个太阳同时被射落了。

Now, there were still seven suns glaring down with their fiery eyes. Feeling the unbearable heat from them, Hou Yi forcefully shot his third arrow.

这下，天上还有七个太阳在瞪着红彤彤的眼睛。后羿感到这些太阳仍很焦热，又狠狠地射出了第三枝箭。

This arrow was powerful, and it struck down four suns instantly. The other suns trembled in fear and spun around chaotically.

这一箭射得很有力，一下子射落了四个太阳。其它的太阳吓得全身打颤，到处乱转。

In this way, Hou Yi shot two more arrows without missing, ultimately bringing down a total of nine suns.

就这样，后羿又连射两箭，箭无虚发，一共射掉了九个太阳。

One by one, the nine suns fell, their feathers scattering to the ground, their light and heat gradually diminishing. The people immediately felt a refreshing coolness and burst into cheers.

中了箭的九个太阳一个接一个地死去。他们的羽毛纷纷落在地上，他们的光和热一点一点地消失了，人们顿感清凉爽快，于是欢呼雀跃。

The last remaining sun, terrified, obeyed Hou Yi's command and faithfully continued to provide light and heat for the earth and all living things.

剩下最后那个太阳，他怕极了，就按照后羿的吩咐，老老实实地为大地和万物继续贡献光和热。

From then on, this sun rose every day from the eastern seaside and set in the western mountains at night, warming the world and sustaining life, allowing people to live and work in peace.

从此，这个太阳每天从东方的海边升起，晚上从西边山上落下，温暖着人间，保持万物生存，人们安居乐业。

However, due to the act of shooting down the nine sons of the Heavenly Emperor, Hou Yi was not allowed to return to the heavenly realm.

但是，后羿却因为射杀天帝的九个儿子，不准再回天庭。
